About Me

Erik B. Kottom: I have spent two and a half out of the last three years living in China as a foreign teacher. During that period of time I have been able to travel to many places and meet many different people. While living in China I decided to pick up 普通话, and found that I really enjoyed speaking Mandarin Chinese. My current year and a half contract will be completed at 西南大学 in 北部，重庆. My goals for this next year and a half are vast as I am attempting to study for the HSK （汉语水平考试）language test as well as the GRE. I am also going to try and apply to graduate school in January of next year for an M.A. program in International Relations if all goes according to plan... In brief, I know that I definitely have my work cut out for me, but at least I believe that what I am currently doing will help me to set the path for my next journey in life. As always I am also content in knowing that I enjoy what I am currently doing everyday which is an added bonus.
